Title: Doctor Who and the Edge of Destruction
Author: Nigel Robinson
Length: 128 pages
Genre: Science fiction
Why I read it: Dewey’s, and a love of all things who
What it’s About: The Doctor and his three companions, Susan, Barbara, and Ian, are aboard a malfunctioning TARDIS, and all the while they grow increasingly suspicious of one another.
The Good: I loved seeing the usually tranquil Susan and The Doctor arguing. Sometimes they get along too well, and as for Barbara and Ian, I loved to see them questioning the doctor for once, especially when it comes to the TARDIS. Not to mention that this is a great look into how far fear can really push a group of people and mess with their heads.
The Bad: Since this was a novelization of the T.V. episode, it was very different from watching it, not just the pacing, but also in terms of reading the characters actions or reactions to each other.
Final Thoughts: I think this book could have been so much better if it was longer, and honestly it something about it just works better as a visual thing than a book.
